WB57 9:00 News

Renee Charles interviewed Jason for the WB 9:00 news and talked about how the comic strip he created for his wife has grown into an avenue for helping others.

Renee Charles: There’s a new comic strip in town. It’s called “Kim & Jason” and it’s all about remembering what it was like to be a little kid with a big imagination! I had a chance to actually sit down and talk to the creator, who’s name is Jason Kotecki. He came into the studio earlier today.

Jason Kotecki: It started for my wife. She had this really amazing childlike quality and attacted me to her. And since I was a broke college student, using my art talent was one of the best ways to start. So, I drew these characters based off of us.

Renee: And, these characters have actually grown into something else. So, they’re helping other people.

Jason: Yeah, a couple ways. We try to encourage people to escape adulthood. As it were, a break from the daily grind.

Renee: Like we all want to do.

Jason: And then also 3% of our profit, or I should say our sales, goes to charities that help kids like the Make-A-Wish Foundation and St. Jude’s Research Hospital.

Renee: And the Kim & Jason comics you can find different things with the whole theme throughout the area.

Jason: We sell greeting cards and candles and matted artwork.

Renee: And they can find more online at KimandJason.com.

Jason: KimandJason.com, Yup. There’s a new comic strip everyday.

Renee: And you can sign up to receive emails with a new Kim & Jason comic everyday. And you can order Kim & Jason products through their website. I checked the website earlier, some good stuff on there.
