12 Days of Wishmas Offers Chance to
Shop Different and Make a Difference
MADISON, Wisconsin – The Madison area will be treated to an unusual shopping experience this holiday season in a newly renovated 100-year-old home on the historic isthmus. The limited time event, dubbed The 12 Days of Wishmas, will give harried grown-ups the opportunity to support the Make-A-Wish Foundation® of Wisconsin as well as recapture the magic of Christmas by partaking in a variety of traditional activities from childhood.
“Adultitis is a terrible condition that causes a lot of stress and affects countless adults, and it’s especially prevalent around the holidays,” said Jason Kotecki, national speaker, author and co-owner of Kim & Jason, a Madison-based company on a mission to rid the world of Adultitis. “People are so caught up in the hustle and bustle of the holidays that we wanted to offer a new shopping experience, one that brings them back to the simplicity of childhood and reminds them of the good feelings that come with giving back.”
For just 12 days – from Saturday, December 8 through Wednesday, December 21 – Kotecki and his band of elves will be opening the doors to their brand new and trendy office space at 315 S. Baldwin Street in the Willy Street neighborhood, offering “cool stuff for the young at heart.” Shoppers who bring in a gift for a Wish Child will have the opportunity to take an ornament from a Christmas tree, which can be redeemed for prizes such as free holiday cards or a $100 shopping spree. Also, during each of the 12 days, customers will be able to partake in a unique nostalgic holiday activity, like decorating their own Christmas cookie, building a gingerbread house, making their own mistletoe, or getting a picture with Santa Claus. In addition, Kim & Jason has committed 5% of all sales during the event to The Make-A-Wish Foundation. The Make-A-Wish Foundation grants the wishes of children with life-threatening medical conditions to enrich the human experience with hope, strength and joy. The "real" Kim and Jason have served as volunteer wish granters for the Wisconsin chapter for the last five years. Jason, being a cartoonist as well, also contributes artwork annually for the Foundation's holiday card fundraiser.
