With dusty smudges covering him, the image of 2-year-old Ben is the photo that best captured our “Dirt” theme for last month’s contest.
Ben’s dad Ryan Culbertson is the winning photographer. He shares:
This is a photo of my 5th child, at Grandma and Papa’s farm where I grew up. They put in an indoor pool for the grandkids and there was a giant water slide set up, too, but Ben was happier just playing in the dirt. Go figure. I couldn’t resist snapping this photo of him sitting on the front porch of the log cabin my dad built when I was a kid.

We’re running out of time for this month’s Lemonade Stand Photo Contest. The theme is “Dirt” - if I were eligible I would submit the following photos:
Probably would be disqualified for not showcasing “dirt” — this is my sister Annie with my cousin David - note the trifecta of outside fun: sand, tricycle and wheelbarrow!
Technically this a “mud” themed photo. These are not my feet - though I have been known to splash in mud puddles!

This was my brother John’s teddy bear. I got him when I was around 13 and he was my boon companion until shortly after this picture was taken, when I was 19. I gave him to a kid, whose last name was Keebler (like the cookies) and never saw him again. I still miss him.
