Did you know February is Great American Pie Month? Pies have been around a long time. And in it’s storied history it can have quite the variety of fillings.

Pie facts:

  • Twice as many folks like their pie plain as folks who like theirs with whipped cream or a la mode.
  • Boston Cream Pie is a cake not pie.
  • Wealthy English folks were known for making pies with live creatures inside.
  • 90% of Americans agree that a slice of pie represents one of the simple pleasures in life.

*You can find a huge list of pie fun facts at the American Pie Council’s website.

One more fact: 36 million Americans name Apple Pie as their favorite.

So I’m featuring our Apple Pie Candle. Available in 16 oz or 8 oz paint cans, these candles will have the folks in your house convinced you spent your day baking the All-American favorite. The high quality soy wax candles will burn clean with a scent that permeates the whole house. And think of the calories you save by burning a candle instead of eating pie!

Even though February is almost over we can still enjoy some pie. Pick up one of these great candles with special $2.00 off pricing (offer expires when the Great American Pie Month ends - woo hoo Leap Year!).

And the winner is…

The Hollywood event of the year, the Academy Awards concluded last night with few surprises. If you or someone you know plans a party for Oscar night the way lots of folks plan a Super Bowl Party I’ve got the perfect gift!

Cineplexity is a fun game for groups big or small to play. Testing the knowledge of movies from all genres and generations, teams compete by naming movies that contain elements from two of the playing cards. For instance you might draw “bad hair” and “old” - and you might answer “No Country for Old Men” starring Best Supporting Actor with the bad hair, Javier Bardem (Congratulations and no offense Javier). Or you might go with the old (1935) black & white movie “The Bride of Frankenstein” - seriously bad hair!

Hundreds of combinations with thousands of movies to suggest make this movie game worthy of a golden statue! Prices at $24.95 every day but today - get your hands on this winner for only $17.47 while supplies last! You’ll like it, you’ll really, really like it!

When I see something like this:

I hear this.

Since today is President’s Day, I knew I had the perfect Lemonade Stand item to feature for Monday Madness: our Hail to the Chef Apron.

This apron features an adapted version of the Presidential Seal (unauthorized use is regulated) with the eagle holding cooking utensils. Whether you’re commander of the kitchen or the backyard grill, the adjustable neck strap and machine washable fabric make this just the ticket!

The everyday Lemonade Stand price is $19.95 - today as we celebrate the birthday’s of Washington and Lincoln, it’s your’s for $13.97.

Snow is falling in Madtown. I’m not complaining, it’s winter in Wisconsin. Oh, that reminds me of a joke I just heard:

A truck driver came to a stop at a red light and a woman jumped out of the car behind him, ran up to his door and after he rolled down his window, yelled, “My name is Heather and I wanted to tell you that you’re losing part of your load.” Then she ran back to her car.

This happened again at the next two stoplights. At the fourth light, the trucker jumped down from his cab, ran back to the car and after her window was rolled down told Heather, “My name is Hank, it’s winter here in Wisconsin and I wanted to tell you this is a salt truck!”

Speaking of trucks, one of the ways I fight winter blahs is to think about summer. Swimming, playing outside and the ice cream man and his truck.

Well, we just got in a line of cool products to help you think summer, even if you live in Anchorage (and they only have 67.3 inches of snow so far this season unlike us).

Aren’t they awesome!? They smell as great at they look, see all eight here at the Lemonade Stand. What a fun way to chase away the winter blues!
