Did you know we have a daily promotion to make any day a great day to shop the Lemonade Stand?

Gift Wrap WednesdayOne deal I think people are missing out on is Gift Wrap Wednesday. This premium service is great any day and a steal on Wednesdays for just a penny. I’m an expert wrapper if I say so myself; I apprenticed with my dad who was in charge of wrapping all the family gifts at Christmas.

Like my dad’s favorite wrapping paper of Sunday funnies, we have some really cool paper that make for bright fun packages evoking the joy of childhood birthdays. We recently had a customer who bought wedding gifts at the Lemonade Stand and was thrilled that we didn’t have “boring wedding paper.” We also got a fun email from Judy who shared with us about an awesomely unique celebration:

We JUST had the 14th annual My Hero Day where we joyfully celebrate the awesomeness of Gregory, my husband, being my hero for the past 14 years! You (and Kim & Jason) helped me with this event, too, as several of the gifts were from the Lemonade Stand and you wrapped them awesomely!

hero-gifts.jpgWhen the HERO gets home, we serve homemade cookies and milk. Then he gets to open at least 12 fun gifts (because he IS a hero 12 months a year!). I always get our 4 cats IN on the action. They found 2 perfect gifts at the Lemonade Stand!! Oh yes, they help him remove, err uh I mean, “play” with the wrapping paper!

This year the cats fell in love and just HAD to give Big Dad Cat the “Super Duper Daddy – You’re My Hero” mug. And leave it up to cats to pick out the Inanimate Stickers because they just knew they would make him laugh. I got the really cool USB-powered Office Coffee Warmer. And because the Hero is a die-hard baseball fan, I just HAD to get him Jason’s Tales from the T-Ball Outfield.

Thanks for sending that awesome story and great photo Judy! Do you have a story to share?

I’m curious: what do you think about Gift Wrap Wednesday and our other deals?

Kim Kotecki recently challenged me to name “Eight Random Things About Me in Eight Years” - a new twist on a familiar meme. As a committed dreamer, I love to imagine what my life will be like in the future, so this was a lot of fun to do.

Without further ado here’s a few things that are me in 2015:

  1. One of my favorite things to do is travel to the New York Stationary Show to find the coolest goodies for The Lemonade Stand.
  2. Many of my days are spent in appointments helping people choose the perfect items for everyone on their gift lists at our Escape Adulthood headquarters.
  3. There is a great team of Sales Servants working with me to make The Lemonade Stand an awesome on-line store.
  4. I speak with businesses about “Keeping Adultitis Out of Your Customer Service.”
  5. My annual week-long service trip with Habitat for Humanity has once again energized me.
  6. I have edited several books by friends and family helping them achieve their dreams of being authors.
  7. Every month I spend time at a cabin on a lake; relaxing, reading, hiking and reconnecting with my outdoor spirit.
  8. I am blessed with a joyful life - I am able to spend time with family and friends, laughing, sharing stories, and creating wonderful memories.

Thanks for the challenge Kim!

I believe it is so important to vision your future. Maybe you don’t have a blog, but that doesn’t mean you shouldn’t take time for dreaming and imagining all the possibilities of what tomorrow holds. So grab a pen and a journal and start capturing your vision or maybe invest in “Goals” jar to help you unfog the future and shoot for the stars!

One of the best things about being a kid is celebrating your birthday! Parties with friends and family and games and cake and ice cream and PRESENTS! My January birthday was both curse and blessing for gifts. It was a curse due to being so close to Christmas and receiving the dreaded “combo” gift, however it was a blessing for the ability to do gift list “clean-up” - what I didn’t get at Christmas I could request for my birthday!

We love birthdays so much that we’ve been celebrating the whole month of August for the 7th birthday of Kim & Jason. We’re expecting no presents but we are giving you gifts. For every order of $7.00 or more at the Lemonade Stand, you’ll receive a $7.00 gift certificate. We wanted to thank you for seven years of making our job of helping folks escape adulthood a whole lot of fun!

Happy birthday to us, free presents for you, but hurry the celebration ends August 31st!

Our Grand Opening for the World Headquarters of Kim & Jason on Saturday was a blast! A lot of folks came to see our new digs - it was great to have family and long time friends come visit. It was especially neat to meet some folks I’d only really known though The Lemonade Stand and my blog - thanks for stopping by Jane, Lisa, and Phil to name a few!

cotton-candy.jpgOf course we didn’t have wine and cheese for our grand opening we served up snow cones and cotton candy! Let me tell you I had a blast running both machines :) Big thanks to Katie who covered my stations while I ran around helping folks who were shopping The Lemonade Stand! The snow cones were a big hit and I had like three, but the cotton candy was by far my favorite - to make and to eat!

I SO totally want a cotton candy machine for my new office now. It’s officially on the wishlist! I just have to find the right distributor…

saturn-v.jpgSince I was a young girl, I have loved the stars and have been fascinated by space travel. I built a model of the Saturn V rocket ship in the 6th grade. images.jpegI have a Saturn V t-shirt from my trip to Huntsville, Alabama where I was able to visit the U.S. Space & Rocket Center - home of Space Camp. I wanted to go since I saw the super cheesy 1986 movie of the same name. Even to this day I’m a sci-fi geek who still dreams of the possibility of taking a trip to outer space.

Here is the cool thing I most wish to add to my new office:

glitter_rocket.jpg#1 Office Glitter Rocket - Having this miniature rocket attached to my computer would be a very cool addition to my desktop. It warms my geek’s heart to see the shining light on the floating glitter inside this silver rocket. My dream of traveling among the stars is kept alive with a glance at this awesome desktop toy.

Much like the countdown to the launch of a rocket, here are all the items on my new office wishlist:

#7 “Success” Magic Bean Wishes

#6 Executive Marble Run

#5 Whatever Wall Clock

#4 Inanimate Object Stickers

#3 Gumball Wall Dispenser

#2 Curly Paperclip Dispenser

#1 Office Glitter Rocket

Addendum 8/13/07 - Cotton Candy Machine!

One of my goals for my new desk is to keep things as organized and efficient as possible. While doing so, I want to add as much fun as possible. Here’s the second item on my wishlist:

curly.jpg#2 Curly Paperclip Dispenser - Why use a little tray or cup, when you can use the magnetized head of our man Curly to hold your paper clips? Not only does he efficiently hold paper clips at the ready, but rearranging those clips into fun “hairstyles” is an amusing way to pass the time when you’re put on hold. This little guy is a great way to take organization to a fun level!

#3 Gumball Wall Dispenser

#4 Inanimate Object Stickers

#5 Whatever Wall Clock

#6 Executive Marble Run

#7 “Success” Magic Bean Wishes

Getting to the coolest goodies for any office here’s number three:

wall_gumball_machine.jpg#3 Wall Gumball Machine - There is nothing like that joyful feeling from childhood of getting to turn the nob on a gumball machine, anticipation building to see what color lands in your hand. This awesome wall version of the classic gumball machine fits into any office decor. I’m looking forward to walking over and dialing up a sweet treat any time I want that joyful feeling!

In the middle of my list of cool things for my new office, is something fun for grown-ups of all ages:inanimate_objects.jpg

#4 Inanimate Object Stickers - I’m not a cartoonist, but it’s going to be way fun to animate my desktop with these facial feature stickers. Seems to be these could make for accessories to a hilarious practical joke on an officemate’s desktop as well!

#5 Whatever Wall Clock

#6 Executive Marble Run

#7 “Success” Magic Bean Wishes

My top three still yet to come!

Number five on the new office wishlist is one of my all time favorite Lemonade Stand products:

whatever_clock.jpg#5 Whatever Wall Clock - This one is so personally relevant to me. You see, I have a tendency to lose track of time, much like this clock seems to have done! What’s also cool from an interior design aspect is that this fun clock matches my desk perfectly.

#6 Executive Marble Run

#7 “Success” Magic Bean Wishes

*Chief Sales Servant bonus tip: This is also a great gift for someone whom you suspect has Adultitis.

More to come this weekend!
