judy.jpgJudy Irené is one of the coolest people I’ve met in the Kim & Jason Universe! You may know Judy from her profile over at Club K&J that was featured in the Kim & Jason magazine: Escape Adulthood,

Judy emailed me to share this fun event she orchestrated for her friends - a Pampered Chick Party! The day was filled with food and massages and other fun indulgences including goodies from the Lemonade Stand!

The 1st Annual Pampered Chick Day turned out spectacularly and everyone loved their Lemonade Stand gifts.

image002.jpgJudy created book full of her frivolous favorites (we’re featured on page six between Life is Good and Goody Goody Shoes) that she gave to all the women attending!

Thanks, Judy, for sharing us with your “Chicks” and thanks for sharing your story with me - you’re one cool chick!

One of the very best parts of my job is hearing about how the great gifts from the Lemonade Stand are shared by you. So, anyone else want to share?

Indulge me.

*There will be no spoilers in this post - I promise!*

There is something that is lacking in a lot of customer service. You hear numerous stories of dissatisfaction - people are much more likely to share their stories about how frustrated, angry and upset they are due to poor service. I believe a big part of this dissatisfaction comes from leaving an interaction with a customer service person feeling there’s no loyalty to them as customers.

That’s why Harry Potter is one of my customer service heroes. Of all the things people have and will say about this character created by J.K. Rowling, it can be agreed that Harry shows loyalty. Throughout our journey with “the boy who lived” we have seen how he came from being an emotionally starved orphan sent to live with uncaring relatives to an intensely friend to his new magical family. He has show deep commitment to those around him from friends at school, to teachers, to magical creatures he encounters. And especially to the cause of fighting evil.

If there is a problem with a product or a mistake is made with an order, I want my customers to know that I understand they are frustrated and I want to do everything I can to take a sour experience and make it a sweet one at the Lemonade Stand. I want customers to know I am loyal to them. I commit to show my dedication to their experience - it should never be about me or company policy.

That’s why Harry Potter is one of my customer service heroes - I am dedicated to fighting the evil of poor customer service and vow to use the superpower of loyalty to do it!

stufffromamanda2.jpgI’m totally feeling a rush of love for The Lemonade Stand recently. I’ve posted a few times now highlighting positive feedback and comments about when folks receive what they order. Click on this photo to check out a sweet blog post from someone who received a package as a gift.

There’s even a photo of the goodies - can you spot the Free Prize capsule? I love the way Stephanie describes her joy at what she found inside. That joy is what I hope everyone feels as they open a box with the Lemonade Stand return label on it. That joy is my goal for every conversation had, email exchanged, and package sent.

Thanks for sharing Stephanie and thanks for spreading some joy from the Lemonade Stand Amanda!

“Every time you place an order at The Kim & Jason Lemonade Stand, it’s kind of like getting the best part of Cracker Jack — and super sugary breakfast cereals, too — you get a free prize. Each prize is packaged inside a little toy capsule, just like the ones at supermarket entrances that you begged mom for. We guarantee that it’s a little something something that will put a smile on your face remind you of the best parts of childhood…”

free_prize_lg.jpgThat is a description of our Free Prizes that are included with every order. I really enjoy putting these together each month - a fun little piece of childhood in each package. With many online stores, you’re lucky if you get enough packing materials to keep your items from being crushed in the back of the delivery truck. As a company we make the effort to do more than pack and ship your order. We try to put a little bit of our mission in every box.

The Free Prize is one of the ways we try to help our customers fight Adultitis in their lives. There are a few other things we add to each order but I’m not going to spoil the surprise for folks who haven’t ordered from us yet. Here are some comments that were shared with me after receiving their orders:

Got my stuff! It is fun and I appreciated the extra goodies in the box :) Thanks!!

…LOVE IT… including the extra little thoughtful treats/toy in the shipment.

Thanks so much for the speedy delivery. We loved the additional “gifts” we received as well.

I received on Saturday – thank you! LOVE the marbles!

I just received my dirt candle today, and I wanted to thank you for the extra goodies in my package! How creative, and what a fun little surprise! Thank you!

Thank you so much! I got my order in today’s mail. WOW - that was fast! As always, I was not disappointed. I was like a little kid going through the box. I started with the comic on the outside, which made me laugh, and continued with the inside. I love the “secret present” in there. I couldn’t wait to see what it could be. I had to have a jelly bean right away. Please thank everyone involved! I love buying from Kim & Jason. It has always been a wonderful experience. THANK YOU!

And can I just say that I very much appreciate the assortment of goodies included with my toasted marshmallow candle I received today. I was having one of those days, and it definitely put a big smile on my face. Thank you so much!

Thank you for all your wonderful feedback. It brings a big smile to my face to know that the time spent putting those goodies in your orders is touching lives. I think that’s one of my favorite parts about being Chief!

sp1.jpgWhen we got the Spaghetti Ice Cream Maker at The Lemonade Stand I had to try it out. I love ice cream! And I believe my Italian heritage makes me genetically predisposed to love spaghetti ice cream.

Here’s three things I love about this product:

1) It is so simple - three easy-to-use inserts, quick preparation, you don’t need a ton of ingredients for the full effect.

2) Helpful hints in the instruction book - the people who make it, used it and gave me hints on how to get best results. From chilling the serving dishes in the freezer to using high quality ice cream for best texture, the hints made an simple dessert more enjoyable to prepare.

3) The end result is so fun! It just looks cool if you do all the fun extras to finish it! I blended fresh strawberries to make the red sauce. I balled up some chocolate ice cream for meatballs. And I melted white chocolate chips into a cupcake paper, let it cool, then grated it for the parmesan cheese.

icecream.jpgOne thing I didn’t like: it was difficult to prepare for many guests without meltage. I served 8 people this dessert. It might have gone better if I’d had people add their own toppings. I didn’t think of that so by the time the last person’s spaghetti was made, the first serving was quite soft. I think I could have done 4 servings without too much melting.

Other than my own overambition, the dessert was very well received. Clean up was easy and things like the strawberry sauce and white chocolate cheese keep well for future desserts. I would definitely serve this again.

Order yours today and get free ice cream (while supplies last)!

Mangia!

It’s the 4th of July - many ways to celebrate and have a good time abound. Seems like combining fireworks & ice cream would be a great way to put a spark into any festivities.

sparkler-ic.jpg

The look on this little guy’s face is a mix of anticipation and terror. There are plenty of things in life we have these hot & cold reactions to; in my opinion ice cream shouldn’t be one of them.

Right now I can offer to give you something to anticipate and keep myself off of those posters at the Post Office by sending ice cream and not fireworks with orders from the Kim & Jason Lemonade Stand (while supplies last). Details here.

Order often so you can stock up on sweet summer goodness!

To folks in the U.S.A. - Happy Independence Day! Twirl a sparkler for me :)
