Looks like fun. I’ve never attempted a gingerbread house, but it looks like Nabisco and Rachel Ray have made it ever so much easier for me. I’ll have to try it.
Now here’s a nice story…my boss and her teenage children, and hubbie worked together on a gingerbread house scene for a contest and raffle. Sounded like a lot of fun. What started as a mother-daughter activity turned into the entire family working together. They didn’t win a prize, as the actual light up houses and villages took the show, but they had a blast I guess.

I enjoyed the slide show and getting to see our kids at work
I asked them if they got creative with their house. Jesse’s response:”yeah that’s our open roof loft in pics 7 and 8 :)” Laura: “Heck yeah we were, our house turned out awesome!! What a fun activity. I forgot how much fun gingerbread house building was… I just might make that a holiday tradition from now on!” I told her I thought that was the whole idea!!

I love that this simple project can be so much fun - for a family, as a new tradition. I remember how much fun it was making these in high school - rolling out, cutting, and baking the actual gingerbread made for a challenge in engineering when it came time to put the house together! But it was so much fun! Graham and now gingergraham crackers are great - like pre-fab housing pieces ![]()

Did you ever make holiday “gingerbread” houses out of graham crackers? Did you know that they make graham crackers that are really gingerbread?
