My mom is a great mom. She’s always been there for me - with straight-forward advice and loving support. Mom has always been my biggest advocate and champion.

aplus.jpgI’d like to share a funny story about my mom’s positive attitude and confidence from when she first became a mom. After all the initial excitement after I was born, Mom was alone with me in her hospital room. She was examining my itty bitty fingers and toes and became quite pleased while reading the identification wristband:

“Baby girl Regis, A+, 01/13/73.”

Mom was so proud that she had gotten an A+ with me. The words “blood type” were completely overlooked. Mom knew she’d done a great job giving birth (and believed I was one grade A baby)!

As far as I’m concerned my mom has set the curve! If I was eligible I would totally enter my mom into the Bestest Mom contest. Since I can’t, I guess I’ll have to come up with another way to tell her how much she means and how great I think she is as my mom.

Hi Jenna! The nurse in me laughed at this one! Hey, my mom only got an A- for me! (maybe points were deducted since the doc used forceps!)
My question for you now is, I scored 2 AB- ’s with my kids! I wonder what that says about me! :)

Hi Gina! I’m glad your nursing self got a kick out of it. My mom just cracks up every time she tells that story :) Maybe these days there are two categories for labor and delivery - hence the AB grades ;)
